Lis O'Kelly
Location: UK and Spain https://lisokellysoulart.com I am a lover of life, a dreamer, a rebel, a discoverer, an adorer of colour. I started out as an interior designer but in recent years felt a deep desire to paint and to express who I am in this way. I see art as so much more than just the act of painting…it’s a journey of self-discovery. It is truth expressing. It is healing and a way to make sense of our internal and external worlds. To make art is to go on a mysterious and magical adventure, a voyage into the unknown. I believe Art is my soul’s voice, calling out from deep within me. Through listening to this voice, using meditation, music, dance and mindfulness as tools to assist me, I can explore its messages and give them form. I can allow whatever needs to come forth to emerge from the depths of my being…. And you can too. I believe that everyone can paint and my mission is to inspire people to find their ‘inner artist’ and to use art as a way to express and to heal. I divide my time between the UK and my mountain retreat in the foothills of the Sierra de las Nieves, Andalucia in Southern Spain. I offer one-to-one and small group sessions working with people on whatever issues are live for them and using art as an expressive and therapeutic tool.
Throughout the year I like to collaborate with others to create workshops for people to attend.
My dream is… happy children, happy education, happy adults and non-violent society. I ask myself 'What can I do to make that happen? How can I contribute, even if it’s a small part?
This is why I participate in The I AM Program. I AM bringing emotional intelligence. artistic workshops to Children and adults :
to see children happy to be themselves, to know who they are, what they like, what they dislike… building their self-esteem day after day
To help children to have a vocabulary of emotions, to be able to express what they are feeling, to be able to communicate what they need.
To guide and teach "I am me, You are you and it’s Ok"
To remind parents that connection is key and that they have the power to guide and teach in this way also.
My dream is to see children very powerful, to be at ease in their body, to be able to listen to their body, to relax. To find their resources. Then they will be able to offer their presence to others. This is the way we can make the world a better place. Education is first love for me, it is to kindle the thirst for knowledge. Everybody is happy when he learns something new. It’s for me a natural trait of the human to learn about life. When we can keep this thirst alive, this curiosity and if we can catch our power, we can stay open to the wind of life, whatever it is. The question is more important than the answer; we keep openness to different horizons.

Encouraging Indigenous Australians to find their power and self-belief through our Big Spirit Program
Hi Everyone. My name is Monique. I am a devoted Mother of 3, a Remedial Massage Therapist, a passionate artist and an avid supporter, and now Facilitator of the I AM Program. I am an Indigenous Australian by way of my Mother. My Great Grandmother was Kuku Yalanji, born on the Daintree River and relocated once to Yarrabah, where her “Bush Father” walked from Mosman to collect her back from. She then ended up in Cherbourg where my Grandmother was born. My Grandfather was Bundjalung Nation from Fingal, Northern New South Wales. I have currently decided the latter is where I will base my life while my Children are growing up. This is such a beautiful area. My life is a good one I could not ask for more.
I have been drawn to the I AM program from the very beginnings. I have watched it develop from Lovely little workshops used to teach Children become comfortable with their feelings through Art, into a Movement that aims to make this a common place within every child’s development and education! I cannot think of a more noble cause! Children are often confused, ashamed and unsure about many of the feelings we, as Humans experience. We don’t come with a manual, we come with Parents. And as Humans ourselves it can be hard to get a handle on our own emotions, let alone negotiate those of a sensitive or out of control child. But it is to Adults that Children look for answers when it comes to knowing what is right and what is wrong. Using Art as a form of expressing and exploring any emotion is a way of looking at feelings, good or bad, in a way that is non-confrontational and even enjoyable. I believe The I AM Program offers a safe and fun way to allow children to learn about their own emotions, and more importantly be OK with them! There is not a feeling anyone can have that hasn’t been felt by someone before us. I feel it is important that we teach children from as early as possible that they and their feelings are OK. A lovely side effect of applying the I AM Program is also that you might just find you begin to feel OK with your own emotions as well. Children are so much more malleable in their minds. The world is full of possibilities and they are so much more open to new ideas then we are as adults. They are sponges, it is true! Let the things they soak up give them strength for the future. “It is easier to build strong Children than to repair broken Men” Frederick Douglass.
I have a great belief in the I AM Program based on the experiences I myself have had through Art and exploring emotions. It is hard to look inside at times but it is not so hard to look at Art. If I can bring the feeling out and put it on paper, be it a memory or just an abstract idea, something implicit, it is there for me to see. It is a fun thing to sit and look at a piece of art and muse over the meaning, the origin and the technique, rather than have a critical eye of ourselves. This is when an Art Program with an aim to do just that becomes an invaluable tool for anyone wishing to see what lies in their own heart and mind.
My goal as a facilitator is to use the workshops specifically within Domestic Abuse situations and Women’s Refuges. As a survivor of this in my Childhood I feel it is of utmost importance to start Children on the road to Healthy Self Worth through their own Emotional Intelligence as soon as you can. The scars are hard to heal, I know from my own experience. It is a cause close to my Heart. I also aim to run the Program within my Children’s school as an alternative to Scripture.

Christine recently completed certification to work as an I AM Program Workshop Facilitator. Her future interest and intention is to teach and promote Emotional Intelligence through programs and workshops at every level from pre-school to adults
The I AM Programfounder is Arna Baartz it is based on the idea that the most efficient approach to true change is consistently applied, personal development instruction. Running personal development programs will begin to reprogram individuals to ‘think correctly’ This enables a set of values that include self- esteem and resilience to take a firm hold thus providing the fundamental foundation for a happier, healthier and more successful life.
A lack of knowledge and self-awareness can see individuals missing out on the simple joy ofjust being alive. Christine wants to help others to re-discover the Power Source that lies deep within each of us she believes that everybody deserves to know that they are guardians of this Personal Power and by reconnecting to it they will feel empowered able to make clearer decisions and take strong actions from a place of truth and integrity rather than feeling a victim of life.

LOCATION: Cudgeon NNSW I am in the final year of a full-time Bachelor of Education (Primary) degree... pretty challenging having four children! Children should be provided with opportunities to become confident go-getters and risk-takers who live a full life, taking every opportunity to succeed in being happy and healthy, both emotionally and physically.
As a teacher I believe in developing students' self-belief to help them reach their potential through offering a diverse range of learning experiences which meet their individual needs. With encouragement, positive reinforcement and motivation I can build on their individual talents.
I'm confident the 'I AM' Programs’ stories and workshops addressing self-acceptance, self-worth and connectedness are innovative and useful tools in providing children with opportunities to express their feelings in different and creative ways...very important in exploring and understanding emotions.
My fervent wish is that all children have the opportunity to learn that life is something to be cherished and enjoyed, that adversity can lead to good fortune and that to be true to oneself 'it takes courage to grow up and become who you really are' - (E.E. Cummings).
I want to make a real contribution in teaching children to understand that life itself is an education filled with dreams and purposes, challenges and risks, failures and successes and most importantly happiness and joy.

Empowering Children and Adults through our emotional language and self-love program
I have been interested in art, health and fitness all my life. In my childhood I studied ballet and began teaching aerobics in my twenties. I worked in all areas of the fitness industry including yoga, strength training, personal training, personal development and nutrition. I worked concurrently in natural therapies for ten years with massage and weight loss counselling. As a child I was always drawing and reading, and my desire to become an author and artist is now realising. I live by a beautiful bay north of Brisbane, with my husband Andreas. Between us we have four daughters, six grandchildren, two chooks and two dogs. Every day I focus on my dreams and hope to inspire others to do the same. I am grateful for my family and the beautiful friends that have come into my life to give me the strength and compassion to get through each day, to grow my dreams, support my family and live a fulfilling life.
I have discovered, through self-love, emotional intelligence and dedication to personal development that life takes on a beautiful and positive shine. I believe adults and children with emotional intelligence achieve goals, avert bullies, and become strong leaders. With emotional intelligence and self-esteem, you can achieve anything your heart desires. Emotional intelligence is the key to successful schooling, business and personal relationships. Emotional intelligence teaches you how to apply yourself in a kind and assertive way, to ensure outcomes are win-win. With emotional intelligence you set goals that make your heart sing, and lead in a way that supports the wellbeing of others. The I AM Program Workshops offer simple but powerful tools to grow emotional intelligence in yourself, your family and your colleagues to support a wonderful, joy filled life, attracting positive experiences and helping the planet along the way.
